Glasses for a Heart Face: Shape, Scale and Fit
The upper outline appears wider than the jaw and narrows toward the chin. Hair at the temples can change which upper width is visible. Eyewear adds another outline across the eyes and cheeks. The useful question is which frame you prefer and can wear comfortably, rather than which frame a category says you must choose.
Compare two clear alternatives
Compare a thin rounded frame with a wider, more visible upper rim. The two direct attention differently around the brows and temples. An upswept edge is an aesthetic option, not a rule that must be avoided.
Check what the photo leaves out
The chin taper does not determine bridge size. Compare how high each frame sits, whether its top rim interrupts the brow, and whether the lower edge touches the cheeks.
Separate shape from visual weight
Compare frames with a similar color and rim thickness first. Once you have a preferred outline, compare a lighter and heavier rim in that outline. A dark, thick rim can attract more attention even when lens shape stays constant; changing everything at once makes the comparison harder to interpret.
Use a consistent front and side comparison
Keep the hair, expression, camera distance and light the same. Take a front photo and a side view for each option. Check where the rim meets the brow and cheek, then wear the frame while moving and smiling. A virtual overlay can help visualize a direction but cannot establish physical fit.
Make the final choice in a fitting
Check bridge stability, temple comfort, cheek clearance and the requirements of your lenses with an eyewear professional. The face analyzer does not prescribe lenses or diagnose vision. Do not buy a frame solely because its shape matches a category label.
Where our framework helps
Contour measurements describe the outline; the framing dimension records how the rim crosses visible features. Capture conditions explain differences introduced by the photo. These remain separate observations, with no promised increase in attractiveness.
