TransFBP: What Whole-Face Attention Can Teach a Face Analyzer
Can an analyzer consider relationships across the face instead of judging every feature against a fixed ideal?
Whole-face context matters
A feature can appear different when seen in isolation and when seen within the complete photograph. A system should retain that context instead of turning every measurement into an independent target. Our feature-relationships dimension asks the report to connect supplied measurements with visible framing, rather than recommending that every ratio move toward one template.
Attention is a diagnostic, not a causal explanation
An attention map shows how a particular architecture weights its internal representations. A bright eye region would not prove that the eyes caused a human attractiveness judgment, nor quantify the benefit of a styling change. A product explanation should distinguish the model’s computation from a reader-facing observation and an actual controlled comparison.
Our implementation choice
We use the holistic-versus-local distinction to organize observation prompts. We have not integrated the TransFBP architecture or its reported benchmark into the product. The paper-linked repository was unavailable during our review. A future implementation needs a reproducible checkpoint, permission review and evaluation on independent portraits before any result is described as human-aligned.
What to inspect in a report
Look for an observation that connects more than one visible feature without treating a difference as a defect. It should name the supplied photo or ratio, acknowledge an important capture limitation, and suggest a comparison that changes one factor. A collection of unexplained local scores would not meet that standard.
What we have adopted
Research direction only. The paper-linked code repository returned 404 when checked on 30 October 2026.
Our public methodology documents the deployed evidence layers and proposed validation protocol. For a concrete example, inspect the complete sample report. The example is illustrative, not an experimental validation result.
